Frank Braley a fait chanter son piano en hommage à Jane Eakin
Le concert du pianiste Frank Braley organisé par le Fonds Jane Eakin le 26 mai 2007 à Ménerbes et en hommage à Jane a été un des évènements forts qui a ponctué les Rencontres des Toiles.
Frank Braley a proposé un récital de piano autour de la musique américaine et française que Jane appréciait particulièrement. En préambule du concert, Frank Braley a donné les clefs pour découvrir les liens qui unissent musique américaine et française. Ainsi « La Sérénade interrompue », « Les sons et les parfums tournent dans l’air du soir » de Debussy, les « Valses nobles et sentimentales » de Ravel ont consacré « le rapprochement entre cette musique et la peinture ». Gershwin était également à l’honneur avec « Rhapsody in Blue ».

The Frank Braley pianist concert organized by the Jane Eakin Foundation on May 26, 2007 in Ménerbes and in homage to Jane was one of the strong events which punctuated the “Rencontres des Toiles”.
Frank Braley proposed a piano recital about American and French music that Jane used to appreciate in particular. As a prelude, Frank Braley gave the keys to discover the connections between American and French music. Thus “the stopped Serenade”, (La Sérénade interrompue”) “The sounds and the perfumes turn in the air of the evening” (Les sons et les parfums tournent dans l’air du soir”) of Debussy, the “Noble and sentimental Waltz” (“Valses nobles et sentimentales”) of Ravel devoted “the parallel between this music and painting”. Gershwin was also honoured with “Rhapsody in Blue”.
Ouverture prochainement de la maison de l’artiste en musée
C’est souvent chez elle, dans son atelier, que Jane Eakin aimait recevoir amis et collectionneurs. La maison de Jane, remplie de fleurs et de fruits, était un peu le prolongement de son œuvre.

Opening soon : the house of the artist converted into a museum
Most of the time, Jane Eakin received her friends and collectors in her workshop. Her house, filled of flowers and fruits, was a bit the prolongation of her work. The Jane Eakin Foundation and the town hall of Ménerbes are preparing the transformation of the artist’s house to convert it into a museum; you will be able to visit it soon.
